VOLUNTEERS

We have many opportunities to Volunteer at the school.  Whether you can give an hour or a weeks worth of time over the coming school year, we appreciate hearing from you.  Many hands make light work and if each parent was able to contribute in some small way, we would be well on our way to ensuring our kids grow up to be secure, confident and service-minded youth!

One-to-One Reading Tutors

One-to-One Childrens Literacy Program for the 2016/2017 school year. Help reluctant readers catch a love of reading! You will be tutoring children for one and half hours weekly from October through December, during school hours. You can volunteer in a full time capactiy (once a week), or share a spot with another volunteer (every two weeks). Complete training is provided during one 3 hour training session.  Please consider this very valuable program as a way to engage with the school.


 

Hot Lunch Committee

Help our Hot Lunch Co-ordinator sort and deliver the hot lunches to the classrooms. Additional help will be needed on Holiday Treat Days and Track and Field days.


Lunch Hour Recess Supervisor

Please help this group of volunteers by offering up one day a week (or a shared position to do it once every two weeks) to help supervise the outdoor noon time recess.  Additional support from parents, especially while the primary students are learning how to play, share, solve problems and be responsible is an important area for parents to volunteer.


Lunch Hour Club

Start or join a lunch hour club!  The PAC is committed to providing funds and a location for parents and community members who want to start a lunch hour club. Have a skill, trade or hobby that can be shared? Sports, scrapbooking, carpentry, stamp collecting, trains, kites, gardening, rocks, books, knitting, board games, whittling, baking, photography, yoga, video games, music…the sky is the limit.
